The Book for June/July is The Heart is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers.
Our next sessions will be on:

Evening Group
Wednesday 3rd July at 8 pm

Afternoon Group
Thursday 4 July at 2.30 pm
Do come along and give us your views!

Carson McCullers' prodigious first novel was published to instant acclaim when she was just twenty-three.  Set in a small town in the middle of the deep South, it is the story of John Singer, a lonely deaf-mute, and a disparate group of people who are drawn towards his kind, sympathetic nature.  Moving, sensitive and deeply humane, The Heart is a Lonely Hunter explores loneliness, the human need for understanding and the search for love.

New members welcome!  More info from Claire at The Burrow or Jane Stewart.

In December 2001 the village shop and post office in Exbourne with Jacobstowe in rural West Devon closed. This meant that villagers would have to make a journey of at least 5 miles each way to reach the nearest town for shops and services. Now after 10 years of hard work and fund raising the village has its own shop and cafe and its underground.
    Welcome to The Burrow!
