Burrow supporters kindly donated a pomegranate tree which has been planted in memory of Hugh Hordern.  The tree, 'Pomegranate Wonderful', was planted in the front flower bed at The Burrow and a brass plaque, commemorating Hugh, was fitted to the front wall.  Hugh's tireless support of The Burrow project contributed to our success in building a community shop which provides local and unusual produce in an unusual setting!

In December 2001 the village shop and post office in Exbourne with Jacobstowe in rural West Devon closed. This meant that villagers would have to make a journey of at least 5 miles each way to reach the nearest town for shops and services. Now after 10 years of hard work and fund raising the village has its own shop and cafe and its underground.
    Welcome to The Burrow!
